The volume The Challenge of the New Humanism contains a series of studies on topics related to the multiple challenges at social, political, cultural, moral, spiritual, historical levels confronting the society and the individual, and also to the human becoming in terms of a historically circumscribed dialectic process.

The book is structured in two parts: The European Challenge and The Dialectics of the Social and Moral Becoming, in the framework of a thematic diversity, set, nonetheless, under the auspices of the leading idea of the new humanism. In this respect, there are many links and bridges among the studies, given the common referent, of a great complexity: society and individual, in a process of unprecedented change, facing many challenges, in a time of radical transformations, at all levels of existence and knowledge. That is why the texts and ideas contained take part in setting up a critical image of the contemporary reality, having at its core the society, the individual and their becoming. It is a reality seen from different angles and perspectives, on the background of a thematic and cultural unity within the diversity of the topics.

The studies in the two sections are developed in a cultural approach to reality, to the phenomenology of change and dialectical process of social and individual becoming, an approach that opens perspectives of interpretation and understanding of these realities and phenomena and, at the same time, leaves open ways of investigating their multiple meanings and implications. In these terms, the studies are a cultural critique of a rapidly and dramatically changing reality.

The book aims to be a challenge to reflection on major issues, addressed to an intellectual public, accustomed to reflecting on topics regarding the essential evolutions involving societies and individuals, in a world undergoing a process of change from the grounds, a process proposing new models and paradigms of existence to ourselves.
