Marcela Crețu, born on May 29, 1990, is an international behavioral therapist, a specialist in the education of children with special needs, and an author. She gained practical experience in Dubai, working directly with children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADHD, Down syndrome, communication difficulties, behavioral challenges, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Her experience spans clinical settings, kindergartens, and schools, in addition to providing direct support to families.
Her professional background includes a bachelor’s degree in Special Education, a Cambridge Diploma in Special Educational Needs, and certifications in behavioral intervention—such as International Behavior Therapist (IBT) and ABAT. She has also pursued advanced training in behavioral analysis and is nearing the completion of her coursework to become a behavioral analyst. Currently, she is furthering her academic development through a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, which informs her perspective on inclusion, the collaboration between families, therapists, and schools, and how educational systems can better support children with special needs.
Marcela integrates psychopedagogy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and educational leadership—drawing also on her personal experience as a mother of two, one of whom has special needs—to view the child as a whole, considering their unique needs, emotions, communication, family environment, and individual potential.
She is the author of the book *Every Child’s Potential: A 21st Century Educational Framework*, published in English. Through her *Autism at Home Guide* (*Ghidul Autismului Acasă*), Marcela offers parents a gentle, clear, and practical companion—one rooted in professional expertise, applied knowledge, and a deeply human understanding. The belief that guides their work is that every child has a voice, an identity, and a unique potential, and that the adult’s role is to create an environment in which these can be heard, respected, and supported.
