History of the French language: University course

The university course - History of the French language-we have to offer studentssection of French Language and Literature is constituted as an introductory manualdedicated to those and those interested in the formation and evolution of the French language from its appearance until the contemporary period. In this course, historical events and linguistic events were treated together because we wanted to provide our students with a more extensive and more complex which is the evolution of Frenchover the centuries.
The course is divided into twelve units, corresponding to major stages of the French language. He proposes to define the status of French in the Romance languages​​, to present the varieties of French through the ages and educate students on the birth ofa standardized language and contemporary, the synchronic and diachronicdimension of the study of French as well as the terminology used, the links betweenthe political, cultural, social and religious of France.
Through the course of History of the French language is proposed also an opening on France and its linguistic dimension, history and culture in full and constant evolution.
