The grammar manual of the Romanian language aims, from a scientific point of view, to promote it information updated by GALR. The grammar of the Romanian language. I. The word; II. The statement (2005, 2008), coord. Valeria Gutu Romalo (elaborated under the aegis of the Institute of Linguistics „Iorgu Jordan - Al. Rosetti ”from Bucharest of the Romanian Academy). Theoretically, the volume promotes the updated information, the theoretical assertions proposed in the mentioned sources as well as in the literature of the last decades, in general.
From the perspective of applied linguistics, the Handbook is a useful tool that emphasizes the fundamental role of cognitive models in the process of knowing and learning the language Romanian, by non-native speakers and / or natives. Even a single argument would suffice this sense: grammar is the mathematics of a language, abstract, complex, and formation communication skills are not achieved ad hoc, through random exercises. It means a long elaborated process, whose purpose is to consolidate logical thinking in accessing linguistic information. Strengthening logical thinking is fundamental, whether we consider it general aspects or particular aspects of the Romanian language. Training of skills correct use of the plural number (use of plural endings depending on gender, the use of vowel and consonant alternations), for example, becomes a special process complex for an English speaker (where the plural is formed by adding termination - s, with the necessary exceptions), of a binding language (where the plural is formed by attaching a distinct plural suffix, at the end of the word) etc. etymology to the nouns of the Romanian language, neologisms, semantics of the name etc. add new elements of difficulty in the correct use of the plural of the Romanian language, by foreign students. Of these considerations, the volume proposes several sets of grammar exercises - training a the competences of the agreement in Romanian, at the level of the nominal group - organized on the basis of ten cognitive, theoretical and applied models, regarding the formation of the plural of nouns, a gender, oblique cases, competent to form nouns by conversion, primary determination and agreement of different types of article and adjective (adjective proper, pronominal adjective, postverbal adjectives) with the noun etc. It is a perfectible model, without the claim to be exhaustive, whose purpose is the formation of communication skills.
