Civil society, his evolution imposed a certain level of high social requirements that individuals must achieve during social integration process. These social requirements unfortunately cannot be satisfied by all members, making to impose the need to develop support social policies
People with hearing impairment have difficulties in verbal communication and in social communication. Therefore, for them it is necessary to establish a system of professional help to facilitate their communication with hearing people.
Through international documents, through the Law on access to information, etc. there is a legal framework for providing support in communication, to facilitate communication between people with hearing impairments and normal people.
The presence of the sign language interpreter in The Rumanian Code of Occupations,, the existence of occupational standards for sign language interpreter make possible the formation the formation of competent specialists in communication with impaired hearing people. .
The book is at its third edition, and represents the support course for the training persons in the field of sign language interpreter. It is addressed to all professionals involved in education, recovering and integration of persons with hearing impairment, but it is also addresses, by problems that call into question, to the students coming from psychology, special education, sociology
The book has five chapters and provides a global vision regarding the activities of sign language interpreter and of the characteristics of the persons who benefit from the interpreter services.
First chapter reveals the feature of sign language activity.
The second chapter approaches the features of human communication.
The third chapter reveals the main features of hearing impairments, of the personality with hearing deficiency.
Chapter four presents elements of the deaf person’s organizations, of their culture.
Chapter five is focus on the integration issues of hearing impairments persons.
