GEOGRAPHY - Baccalaureate preparation guide is a revised edition of the previous one, a teaching assistant, a training support, meant to provide real support for reading the contents contained in the school curriculum in force.
In creating this training support, the author took into account the school curriculum of geography for the 12th grade as a whole (general skills, values and attitudes, specific skills, contents offered, methodological suggestions), and the structure and content follow the methodological suggestions from the Geography Program - 12th grade, as well as the Baccalaureate Exam Program. In this context, the guide may be used in conjunction with any of the approved manuals in circulation.
Due to the complexity of the problems presented, their opportunity and the way of formulating the items, this paper is a real tool for students, which, in terms of its use and depending, of course, the level of training, interest in geography, is will be closer to the requirements of the current examination and performance.
Through applications, homework, questions and tests, an objective evaluation and self-evaluation of the performance of each student and an adequate preparation are ensured, for the evaluation that will take place during the whole school year, in the conditions of school competitions (Geography Olympiad) and especially in in order to prepare for the baccalaureate exam.
The use of the guide allows an active learning, the student is permanently trained in the development of the lesson, thus ensuring the realization of the training predominantly (or exclusively) in the classroom.
This paper includes:
1. Synthesis and applications, with various types of items, for each chapter;
2. 30 tests, according to the model of those from the baccalaureate exam, updated as structure, content and with a pronounced integrated character;
3. Scales associated with these tests, developed, with several answer options, which allow both the verification of solutions and a certification of learning quality;
4. Maps, very well made and extremely useful graphics.
We consider this training guide not an end in itself, but a method to learn better, easier and more efficiently, to demonstrate to the student the importance of studying Geography in general and especially the Geography of Romania, Europe and the European Union. Due to the way it is structured, the paper is a novelty for the study of geography at high school level, it is also welcomed by a real benefit for teachers and students. It will certainly contribute to the increase of the quality of the educational process, to the learning of geography and in particular, the facilitation of obtaining some results corresponding to the expectations at the baccalaureate exam.
