GEOGRAPHY - Preparation guide for the baccalaureate is a revised edition of the previous one, a didactic aid, an instructional support, intended to provide real support for the course of the contents covered by the current Curriculum.
In creating this training support, the author had in mind the geography school curriculum for the twelfth grade as a whole (general skills, values and attitudes, specific skills, contents offered, methodological suggestions), and the structure and content respect the methodological suggestions from the Geography Syllabus - Grade XII, as well as the Syllabus for the Baccalaureate Exam. In this context, the guide can be used together with any of the approved manuals in circulation.
Due to the complexity of the problems presented, their opportunity and the way the items are formulated, the present paper constitutes a genuine working tool for students, who, under the conditions of its use and depending, of course, on the level of preparation, on the interest in geography, they will come closer to the requirements of the current examination and performance.
Through applications, assignments, questions and tests, an objective evaluation and self-evaluation of each student's performance and adequate preparation are ensured, for the evaluation that will take place throughout the school year, under the conditions of school competitions (Geography Olympiad) and especially in in order to prepare for the baccalaureate exam.
The use of the guide allows active learning, the student is constantly trained in the lesson, thus ensuring that the training is carried out predominantly (or exclusively) in the classroom.
The present work includes:
1. Syntheses and applications, with various types of items, for each chapter;
2. 30 tests, based on the model of the baccalaureate exam, updated in structure, content and with a pronounced integrated character;
3. Scales associated with these tests, developed, with several answer options, which allow both the verification of solutions and a certification of the quality of learning;
4. Very well made and extremely useful maps and charts.
We consider this training guide not an end in itself, but a method to learn better, easier and more efficiently, to demonstrate to the student the importance of studying Geography in general and especially the Geography of Romania, Europe and the European Union.
Through the way of structuring, the work is a novelty for the study of geography at high school level, it is welcome and of real use for teachers and students. It will certainly contribute to increasing the quality of the educational process, to the learning of geography and, in particular, to the facilitation of obtaining results corresponding to the expectations of the baccalaureate exam.
