The novel "The photo in the drawer" turns out to be the presentation of events in the lives of people who, intentionally or not, fall into the trap of those people with sinister intentions who take advantage of the naivety of those who in life have not faced situations from which they find it difficult to find solutions without affecting their otherwise peaceful life until the meeting point with the unknown.
From this dilemma that the main character goes through, wanting to come out and elucidate the mystery of his inner lives, which is why he turns to a psychological office in the hope of solving the ambivalence of his cognitions, the enigma that will be solved towards the end of the novel, so that he managed to avoid resorting to reckless acts due to the uncertainty he was in and which could lead him to a fatal outcome.
The subject and action of the novel prove to leave no time for the reader to breathe until the reading is completed.
As it appears from the title of the novel "The photo in the drawer", the mystery accompanies the actions until the end.

The author Ilie Marinescu's attempt to move from the lyric genre to prose is based on the experience accumulated over time through his talent as a psychologist and poet, but also through his travels in the United States of America, a fact that generated the action of the present novel, based on largely based on real facts, according to the author's confessions, so that the action was designed to take place in two parts: the first part in the USA, and the second part in Romania.
The author started the action of the novel with the presence of the main character at the psychologist's office, motivated by the uncertainty he had about the situations he faced during his journey to the United States and throughout the entire action of the novel through the discoveries made, gearing him in a way involuntarily witnessing a series of facts that did not fit with his activities or his psychological profile.
Contrary to expectations, this novel does not refer in the strict sense of psychological analysis by highlighting the personality types of the characters, but rather lets the reader intuit for himself how each character in the novel presents itself through the eyes of the reader.
Having the conviction that the subject and the action put in the pages of this novel will satisfy the readers' tastes, as an expert in behavioral analysis and interaction with many real life scenarios, from my career as a teacher and expert in psychology, I can affirm with certainty that the novel proposed to the reading of book lovers is part of the preferences of those who appreciate a book free from the everyday grotesque, with a well-defined scenario and from which they can draw some lessons.
Being a psychologist by profession, the author of the novel, Ilie Marinescu, foreshadows the typology of the characters, causing the main character to restructure his own cognitions and decisions, so that the psychologist's intervention in the office is minimal, barely perceptible, but after which the character avoids collapse in his own uncertainties that made him captive in the implacable fatality of events.
Ilie Marinescu proves to be the craftsman of the narrative in which the mystery of the action unfolds throughout the novel.
The subject and action of the novel prove to leave no time for the reader to breathe until the reading is completed.
As it appears from the title of the novel "The photo in the drawer", the mystery accompanies the actions until the end.
Letting the reader go through and savoring the cobwebs and the suspense of the action in the novel, I appreciate the fact that my former student, Ilie Marinescu, created with the skill of a dedicated writer, a subject that deserves contemplation and that obeys the saying: "life beats the film", so that, knowing the author, I can say that loving what he does, he will also find the reward for his work in the appreciation of the readers.
