This volume is based on the results of the research conducted within the doctoral program carried out within the Doctoral School of Sociology, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest, between 2015 and 2020. The volume proposes a selection of the analyzes reflected in the doctoral thesis Institutional exclusion from social housing in Romania, coordinated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Liviu Chelcea, on the basis of which I obtained the title of doctor in sociology in 2020.
The original material, included in the doctoral thesis, has been revised and edited to be accessible to a wider range of readers.
Although the analyzes of social housing allocation schemes in Romania are based on documents collected in 2016-2017, they retain their relevance. The field of social housing and especially that of the allocation of social housing has not registered structural changes in recent years and, although at the local level, the criteria for access and prioritization of access to a social housing have changed, the general trends of institutionalized exclusion of the most vulnerable in the population remain present, they must be made aware and addressed.
