"Only now, lost at the edge of a forest in Oregon, do I realize that it was very possible that that road was, in fact, in vain. (...) I didn't understand anything anymore, I didn't know anything anymore, and worst of all, I hadn't managed to draw any revealing conclusions from all that exalted search. My life was emptier than before, I, more useless."
A young woman lost in the excitement of adolescence, faced with a family secret and an initiatory search. As Scout confronts Haul, as she calls her mental pain, the world around her falls apart, it is lost along with it, which pushes her to rediscover it. Scout is more than anything a state of mind: getting into a car and driving endlessly, over interstates, canyons and the wilderness of the Old West. From the southwest of the United States to chaotic Paris; to seek and reject, through obsession and pain, friendship and love.
