Editura Universitara is waiting for you at the 25th edition of the GAUDEAMUS International Fair - Textbook, with news, book launches, works from all fields, discounts of at least 30% on all books.
On Saturday, November 17, 2018, starting with 11.30, at the publishing house's stand, two works of maximum interest for economic agents will be launched, namely: ”Legislatia Uniunii Europene privind protectia datelor personale” ("European Union Legislation on Personal Data Protection") and ”Legislatia Uniunii Europene in materia achizitiilor publice” ("European Union Legislation on Public Procurement"), both papers having as editors prof. univ. dr. Mihai Sandru and dr. scientific researcher Irina Alexe.
The volume ”Legislatia Uniunii Europene privind protectia datelor personale” ("European Union Legislation on Personal Data Protection") contains a study which analyzes the experiences in Romania regarding the implementation of the General Regulation on Data Protection 2016/679, to which are attached the 21 relevant acts and the full text of the GDPR but also of the directives of the framework decisions, guides or opinions issued by the competent institutions of the European Union. At the event will speak Mr. Nicolae Pana, president of LegaLITC, PhD scientific researcher Irina Alexe, univ. Prof. Dr. Mihai Sandru.
”Legislatia Uniunii Europene in materia achizitiilor publice” ("European Union Legislation on Public Procurement") is the second book that the guests of the Editura Universitara will talk about during the event. The successive legislative reforms carried out at the level of the European Union in the field of public procurement were crowned, in 2014, by the adoption by the European Parliament and the Council of a new legislative package consisting of three Directives: 23/24/25/2014. About the transposition into domestic law will speak Mr. lawyer Florin Irimia - president of AEXA, Mrs. Ecaterina Milica Dobrota, public procurement expert, Dr. scientific researcher Irina Alexe and univ. prof. Dr. Mihai Sandru.
In this context, Editura Universitara will award the "Corneliu Turianu" Prize for the best specialized book published in the Collection of Legal and Administrative Sciences. This award was established by the Editura Universitara in 2017, in memory of Mr. prof. Univ. Dr. Corneliu Turianu.
Also on Saturday, starting with 12.30, at the stand of the Editura Universitara, the book “ACUL BUSOLEI. Convorbiri politice si diplomatice" (“Compass Needle. Political and diplomatic talks"), written by journalist Elena Chirita. The book contains 62 interviews with academic, political, diplomatic and cultural figures from all continents, on sensitive topics, and gives the reader a chance to discover who was behind decisions that influenced the destinies of mankind. The guests who will speak at the event are Mr. Emil Constantinescu, former president of Romania, Mr. Mircea Druc, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Ambassador Florin Angelo Florian, Mrs. Elena Chirita, author of the sixth book published by the Editura Universitara.
Starting with 13.30, Saturday, November 17, 2018, the autobiographical volume "O viata grea" ("A Hard Life"), author Mihai Cristian Pirvu, will be launched. "A confession in front of life" as stated by the author himself who unravels the narrative thread of his life from 1972 to today. At the event will speak Mrs. Prof. Dr. Otilia Sirbu, Prof. Univ. Dr. Cristian Troncota, Mr. Ovidiu Nahoi, editor-in-chief of Radio France International, Mr. Vasile Malureanu, director of Vitralii magazine, Mr. Dr. Mihai Cristian Pirvu.
All events will be moderated by Mr. Vasile Muscalu, director of the Editura Universitara.
In the Centenary Year, the history collection of the Editura Universitara was enriched with four new titles signed by prof. Univ. Nicolae Isar: ”Evocari istorice. 1821-1918” (“Historical evocations. 1821-1918”), ”Relatii si interferente romano-franceze in epoca Luminilor (1769-1834). Studii” (“ Romanian-French relations and interferences in the Age of Enlightenment (1769-1834). Studies”), ”Romania sub semnul modernizarii - De la Alexandru Ioan Cuza la Carol I (1859 – 1914)” (“Romania under the sign of modernization - From Alexandru Ioan Cuza to Carol I (1859 - 1914)”), ”Sub semnul ”Luminilor”. Din istoria generatiei de la 1821” (“Under the sign of “Lights”. From the history of the generation from 1821”).
Also in our history collection, two volumes of memoirs appeared:
”Diplomatie si poezie - contributia europeana a lui Scarlat A. Cantacuzino (Charles-Adolphe Cantacuzène) ("Diplomacy and poetry - the European contribution of Scarlat A. Cantacuzino (Charles-Adolphe Cantacuzène))", whose authors are the nephews of the Romanian diplomat, Mihaela Roco and Mihail Roco. A very well documented work, with images and texts from the family's personal archive.
The book "Fara odihna" ("Without Rest"), written by Hillo Ostfeld and Trudy Ostfeld of Bendayan, is the sincere and heartbreaking testimony of a Holocaust survivor. A book with stories, sometimes hilarious, sometimes painful.
In the Religion collection, an impressive volume appeared, through its structure and the density of information: ”SARBATORILE SFINTILOR. Istoricitatea, semnificatia si importanta lor liturgica, religioasa si etnografica” (“The Feasts of the Saints. Their historicity, significance and liturgical, religious and ethnographic importance"), author archim. Vasile Miron.
