Octavian D. Baban, Ph.D. (1999) at London Bible College - now London School of Theology, Brunel University (England), is a lecturer in New Testament Theology at the Baptist Theological Institute in Bucharest and director of the theological department. He studied Technological Physics at the University of Bucharest, then Biblical Theology at London Bible College. He also taught the same theological disciplines at the Baptist Theological Faculty, University of Bucharest (1998-2023) and a course in Political Theology, within a master's program at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA). He also taught as an associate lecturer at Tyndale Theological Seminary in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2011-2017) and is an external collaborator of the New Testament department in biblical commentaries projects and doctoral studies, at the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit in Leuven, Belgium. As a pastor, he served as the pastor of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Constanta (1991-1998) and the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Bucharest (1998-2024). He has published articles and volumes on the theology and history of the New Testament and on the Greek language of the New Testament (koine). He is among those who participated in the translation and final editing of the TSB (Society Bible Translation) version of the New Testament, one of the major projects of the Interdenominational Bible Society of Romania (SBIR), 2005-2009.
