The volume series Nursing Theory and Practice by Vasile Baghiu, in its revised form, continues the direction assumed since the first edition: promoting a nursing practice aligned with international standards, through the systematic use of the NANDA-I nursing diagnostic classifications and related instruments regarding interventions and objectives (NIC and NOC), as a common professional language and support for planning, implementing and evaluating care.
Approved by the M.E.N. for the first volume (O.M. no. 3022/08.01.2018), the guide is in accordance with the most recent school programs, appears in the bibliography of the certification and completion exams in the specialty "General Medical Assistance" and is used in numerous post-secondary health schools, nursing faculties and in care practice.

Vasile Baghiu (b. 1965) has a degree in psychology and a master's degree in psychological and educational counseling, with training in narrative therapy. His initial training is in the medical field, graduating from Bacău Health High School (1984) and the Piatra-Neamţ Post-High School of Health (equivalency, 1991). Until 2008, he worked as a medical assistant in various medical services and institutions: at the Bisericani TB Sanatorium, in the Toxicology Laboratory and in the Health Promotion Department of the Neamţ Public Health Directorate, in a private cardiology practice and, for a period, in a hospital in Germany. Between 2014 and 2021, he was a nursing professor at the Piatra-Neamţ Post-High School of Health, during which time he initiated the series of volumes Theory and Practice of Nursing, designed as a teaching tool for the training of medical assistants. He also carried out activities in the field of health promotion and medical journalism, founding the health education magazine Modus Vivendi (1997–2002) and publishing articles in Viaţa Medicală. He produced the show Cultura sănătății on Est TV and initiated the educational project Sănătatea lecturii, presented in numerous schools. He worked as a psychologist within the Neamț Public Health Directorate. He is known as a writer, a member of the Romanian Writers' Union and the PEN Club, author of several volumes of poetry and prose, including novels, and founder of the literary concept of chimerism. His work has been translated into various cultural spaces, and his literary activity has been supported by creative scholarships in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the United Kingdom.
