Prof. TIMOTEI URSU is a member of the Historical and Archaeological Studies section of the Romanian Academy of Scientists. He is a graduate (1962) of the Faculty of Philology-History of the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and of the Bucharest Institute of Theater and Cinematography, Film and Television Directing (1969). He was the scientific coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Study Team at the Dacian Sanctuaries in the Orastie Mountains within the Romanian Academy of Scientists - AOSR (1982-1985) and author of the project of a complex multidisciplinary study team of AOSR targeting the Dacian relics in the Orastie Mountains (2012 -2017). He is also the author of the "URTIM Process" of underground spectrographic analysis of satellite images, with special application in archaeological sites.
He is the author of the volumes „America Anul Intai” ("America First Year") (New York, 2004, lyrics and painting); „Si nu ne duce pre noi in ispita!...”  ("And it does not lead us into temptation! ...") (political articles, New York, 2006);  „Pledoarii Pro-Dacice” (“Pro-Dacian Plea”) (Cluj-Napoca, 2009) and „Kogaion. Cercetari Multidisciplinare la sanctuarele dacice din Muntii Orastiei” (“Kogaion. Multidisciplinary Research at the Dacian Sanctuaries in the Orastie Mountains”) (first edition, Cluj-Napoca, 2010), the last two - analyzes in the field of Geto-Dacian culture. He was an assiduous collaborator, with historiography articles, of the magazine DACIA MAGAZIN from Romania (2004-2009).
He is also known for his work as a film and television director and screenwriter until 1982 (the films DECOLAREA (TAKE OFF), SEPTEMBRIE (SEPTEMBER), AL PATRULEA STOL (THE FOURTH STOCK), STRIDIA SI PERLA (OYSTER AND PEARL), BANCHIZA (FLOES), NUNTA INSANGERATA (BLOODED WEDDING), etc.) and as an active participant in television shows. in Romania and the USA, dedicated to research in the field of Geto-Dacian civilization. Among his many travels around the world, there are those with applications in the knowledge of ancient human cultures in Japan, South Africa, Greece, the Canary Islands, Yucatan-Mexico and Peru. Between 1989 - 2004 he had an intense journalistic activity in the Romanian-language media in the USA, being the director of the magazines "FOAIE" ("SHEET") (1996-1999), "LUMEA LIBERA" ("FREE WORLD") (2000-2004) and correspondent from New York of the programs. of the Romanian language of the BBC.
