The market has become increasingly competitive. Globalization, technological change and customers are demanding more general points apply to most areas. To succeed in this competition, managers need to think and pursue business models through which to learn and operate within, skills and lead their companies to focus on what I know to do best.
Customers are becoming more demanding. They want realistic delivery times and complete information on stock availability. The ability to provide this information requires the implementation of an integrated logistics system throughout the supply chain from the supplier that begins and ends at the client (and we mean here both in terms of flow of goods and information flow).
Today many companies seeking solutions to their supply chain problems, looking for answers in so-called "best practices" demonstrated by successful companies. Logistics can not be duplicated in a short time without considerable efforts by competitors. Although competitors might try to copy the successful efforts of an organization, those who are in advantage will continue to be involved in continuous improvement programs, and the difference may become smaller and more easily may be requested by customers.
For this reason, many managers see logistics as a marketing weapon that integrates offensive and as part of their strategy. They build partnerships with organizations in the supply chain, organizations that have complementary capabilities and essential. Perform this step because the nature of competition and market changes. Although companies are still competing with each other, they build strong relationships with suppliers and customers for winning a competitive advantage. Perhaps we will see increasingly more often achieve much deeper alliances that companies will choose to form a real team throughout the supply chain. As a team, they will continue to overcome limits competition in search of new solutions to increase productivity and market share. Success in this case will depend on how well these companies will be able to work, breaking the boundaries between them, improve important processes in order to meet customer requirements.
Possibilities to improve the supply chain are numerous but so are the difficulties that must be overcome in order to develop an optimal process. Companies trying for years to get inside them a true integrated process between different functions within them. Maybe that is not yet achieved full implementation of the concept of supply chain between teams from different companies. However there are many managers who implement various forms of processes and structures of these concepts. They invest in information systems and technologies, investigating various indicators for measuring and looking for new practical methods which can identify important points in order to achieve effective cooperation, inter-organizational. This is the area that, through this work, I try to contribute to finding practical components to implement an efficient supply chain that contribute to increased economic performance results of the company.
