Information and knowledge economy - Minodora Ursacescu

Whether the "postindustrial society" by Daniel Bell, or "information society" in John Naisbitt's view, something is revealed with impressive clarity: a society in which all transformations are intimately related to the characteristics of information, its power to create knowledge and the undeniable presence of information and communication technologies. Such a society led - especially since the last decade of last century - the emergence of a new economy, an information and knowledge. Beyond the technological side, the new economy is primarily a problem of behavior and managerial skills in a highly competitive environment virtualized, a matter of adaptation on the fly in economy and technology requirements.

Information and knowledge economy caused structural changes in the way of production in strategic stakes in power relations and in relations between states, governments, companies and individuals. And all these have gradually transformed the model industrial economy in the current sharp rise under the impact of information and knowledge, amazing exploited by new technologies.

Looking back in history, it is difficult to identify a technology that has wide applicability in the field as human activities, as have current communication technology and automated information processing.

Moreover, technological progress never failed to provide means and tools to dissolve the barriers of communication and cooperation between economic actors and between individuals, as none of the technologies provided by previous revolutions, it made possible the domination, exploitation and dissemination of creative essence human being: consciousness.

The content of this paper is of course, perfect. Now, he is probably big enough to give the reader an objective view on information and knowledge economy. Tomorrow, however, the changing nature of the current strong companies leave behind certainly, the subjects treated here today.
