This paper is an introduction to the techniques of writing written materials and aims to be a useful tool for both students in the field of Communication Sciences and media practitioners. Conceived in the form of a course support, a textbook, the volume offers a series of basic theoretical elements, structured in independent chapters, as well as suggestions and a rich palette of examples from the local journalistic landscape, selected from local and national press.

The paper is designed in an accessible style and is oriented towards the practical aspects of the profession of journalist specialized in the written press. The central idea that follows each chapter of this volume is that professionalism remains a guarantee of quality journalism and that journalists must, despite the routine and the increasingly alert pace in which they work, remain faithful to the value of information, deontological norms. specific to the guild they belong to and, last but not least, to the sovereign public. In other words, the volume militates for the obligation of a print journalist to cultivate professional standards as high as possible, as opposed to superficiality, amateurism and even imposture.

The written press is not made, contrary to the myths that are still circulating, neither by ear nor even on the basis of a writing talent. The written press is made according to the standards of the profession, with precision and rigor. Therefore, we consider that this work of techniques for writing written press materials is useful for those students and journalists who want to take their job as close to perfection as possible, having as final goal the quality of information transmitted to readers.
