The choice to write about a great writer is justified by several arguments. The first would be the pleasure argument. You can only write with pleasure about something that causes you pleasure. Hedonism intervenes, therefore, both at the level of receiving by us the texts signed by Mircea Nedelciu, and at the level of producing the analysis about them, but also, prospectively, optimistically, at the level of reading this product of this paper by other readers. The love relationship between the text and the reader (in all possible senses together with the permutations and nuances inherent in both concepts) that Roland Barthes spoke about guided us throughout our journey.

Of course, difficult aspects inevitably intervened, which alone, the hedonistic plea undertaken here, could not have solved. We only mention the lack of a consistent critical bibliography, apart from the articles from the profile press or from the sections from the collective or author studies, which turned the present approach into an unusual gesture. Even if he is a fashionable writer, close to the young receivers to whom his texts speak about the world of their parents, a happy and sad world, but alive to the last nerve of the body, Mircea Nedelciu does not have a complete analysis. We do not claim the exhaustiveness of the present one, but only the attempt of monograph, chronological perspective, ordered, on a prodigious textual production that constitutes a fertile archeological site for any real seeker.
Our choice, beyond the personal criterion of taste, is justified, as we will demonstrate in the following, by the status of Mircea Nedelciu as leader of his generation, a leader imposed by the quality of the texts, both fiction and theoretical in which it is obvious the assumption of a firm position, the consciousness of the artistic act undertaken: permanent collaboration with the lecturer, the proposed partnership, mutually advantageous.
Therefore, Mircea Nedelciu speaks to future generations about Romania that existed and that still survives in our defect, in gestures, in habits, in mentality. The fact that investigating these sociological samples represented by his textual productions becomes a moral act, of the deep assumption of a collective, national identity, an obligatory act of self-analysis not through dramas and lamentations, but through daily, dynamic and bubbling existence.
