This series of articles represents a conjectural collection of a few representative papers and general studies presented by me during my MA and PhD years at The London Bible College (The London School of Theology), Brunel University, London, during the 1994 - 1997 period. They approach certain topics of interest for the modern understanding of the New Testament as seen in its cultural, Hellenistic context. Even if they do not amount to an exhaustive study of their particular subjects and obviously are open to improvements, in various ways, these essays, however, open certain less trodded yet promising venues in the linguistic and cultural research of the NT, bringing the world of the NT closer to the modern reader, in terms of moral values, beliefs and spiritual highmarks, in terms of literature and style.
