In the autumn of 1944, a young professor of ancient history from Vienna boarded a freight train with thousands of other convicts and was deported to Auschwitz.

To escape, he has only a few weeks until his hunger darkens his judgment, until his body is too weak to fight.

Will he succeed ?! The novel's ending is unexpected and shocking ...

Written in the first person, in an alert manner, the novel Last Night at Auschwitz transports the reader into the terrifying atmosphere of this factory of death, where even the air smells of despair, in the intimacy of thoughts, motivation and dialogues of monsters with human faces, such as Josef Mengele, Rudolf Höss or the murderer Karl Fritzsch.

The main character, Severin Bosch, an Austrian intellectual of Romanian origin, an exponent of Nietzsche's superman, enters, without his will, into the bowels of this well-organized machine, witnesses atrocious crimes, dehumanization and betrayal, but succeeds in only a few days to organize the opposition, becoming the leader of a resistance movement that aims to release all prisoners from the camp.

Inspired by real, well-documented facts, Last Night at Auschwitz is a captivating and terrifying historical thriller, a true descent into hell, which masterfully depicts the blind, mutilating clash between dehumanized, indoctrinated beings and their defenseless victims.
Cosmin BAIU has extensive experience in the economic field. He has been working for over 20 years in top banking companies in Europe, occupying multiple executive management positions, including that of a member of several credit committees. He has an experience that combines the activity of credit risk analysis with the activity of selling retail and corporate products, which allows him an overview, unique, of the financial-banking world.
