"Environmental Economics - treatise" is one of the newest and most innovative scientific books of the Romanian university environment. Being structured on 12 chapters, this book has as main purpose the presentation of some of the problems of the modern society, together with scientific and pedagogical arguments that plead in favor of the reflection on these problems.
The element of novelty lies in the manner of each chapter to address issues of major importance such as ecological crisis, climate disasters, the impact of anthropogenic influences on the natural environment. These problems of the modern man century are passed through the prism of modern concepts such as bioeconomy and also used scientific methods of interpretation and analysis to quantify these actions. Hence the interdisciplinary nature of the treatise which, in addition to the simple methodological exposition of these methods and concepts, offers conclusive, well-documented examples to give the reader an overview of life in general. The economy of the environment exceeds by content and approach, the books that have treated this topic so far, because it outlines not only the global situation but life itself with all its elements: the natural environment, people, animals, cultural differences that created the background of each nation. part, and last but not least, institutions and policies.
The topics under discussion aim at developing the reader as a responsible citizen not only of the community he belongs to but also of the Planet.
The changes that have taken place and will take place, create, in an optimistic vision, hopes for the even and gradual remediation of the environment. In the general tumult of change, this treaty raises another alarm signal about the environment and the existence of life on Earth. The concept of natural environment, receives in the pages of this book a dynamic character that seeks to know, to analyze and to follow the functioning of the protected systems in all their complexity. Preventing and combating environmental damage and the use of clean technologies receive new values in the 12 chapters that do nothing but guide the reader to find and adopt the best solutions in managing natural resources. The main objectives of the book are to develop the mentality in the field of environmental economics and to prepare and hold accountable not only students, future specialists of tomorrow, but also citizens, economic agents and managers, who represent a unitary whole whose anthropogenic impact is felt. more pregnant.
The authors consider that learning is a personal act that requires personal participation. The essential problem on which the production of effective learning depends is that of involvement, of the employment of the learner in the act of learning, reason for which another novelty element brought by the treaty is the pedagogical method adopted. Each chapter provides the reader with grids for checking the knowledge undertaken not only through tests but also through the puzzle, an inventive and interactive way of learning. The authors considered these test methods, the key to learning that represents the creation of obstacles and their use, which will bring with it understanding, the penetration with the mind of the given content, knowing that only what is understood is learned well.
This Treaty is not merely a presentation of environmental issues, general environmental pollution issues, environmental economics research methodologies, environmental protection, based on avoiding or at least reducing the impact of man-made polluting resources on the environment, but creating mainly a tool to hold society accountable. We must not forget that not only the students, the next generation, must learn but also the present generation, because through the many mistakes made today, people have endangered the future of the next generations. That is why the Environmental Economy-treaty tries to make citizens aware because the change for the better for the future begins with each of us.
Why read this treatise? Certainly scientists will analyze the new scientific theory and especially the solutions offered by the bioeconomy. Students, masters and young doctoral students in addition to the theoretical and practical notions of great relevance will be able to "see" other aspects of life, complex aspects, but rarely thoroughly analyzed and scientifically argued. you will become more responsible, more aware and last but not least able to overcome lamentations and act, valuing the life and health of the planet.
We have many attachments in our lives. The former are right in front of our insignificant being, and they are in a way the most stable attachments that mark our existence. They are the very expression of our character and personality; at the same time, they define and guide our behavior. Then come the attachments to elements outside us, beings or objects or material components of the Universe. With attachment to all our fellow men and with great respect for all those who have leaned on our work summarized in these pages we believe that time to think to act and manage differently what we have now, and this treaty can be a good adviser.
