Although at the beginning of the road, Maria surprises with a special sensitivity.
Her short lyrics and prose abound in candid images. The closeness to nature is felt from the first lines, and the reader is attracted to a bright universe, which delights in the guided descriptions, just like in a childhood game. The sun and the moon, the stars and the mountains take on magical, fairytale proportions, just as only a child's imagination can create.
We also find among Maria's compositions scenes from everyday life, presented naturally, lightly, but with a hidden core. These small talc snapshots reveal a certain early maturity and creative potential that promises to grow at a brisk pace.
This debut volume, so harmonious in its construction, is accompanied by the author's drawings, which does nothing but delight the reader, giving him a visual way to access such a naive imaginary.
Among the lines written by Maria, I already see the writer of tomorrow, the one who lives intensely any emotion and then has the courage to lay everything down on paper.
This book is for both young and old readers. For us, the latter, it is a reading that carries the sweet aroma of childhood, when time seemed to stand still, and life was just an adventure about to begin. And maybe that's why it's a precious read: it reminds us how important it is to dream.
